Mother’s Day 2010 at the Los Angeles Arboretum
Tuesday, May 25, 2010 ~ Our Mother's Day event turned out to be quite the place to be with so many different groups joining in to celebrate all things Victorian. Members from groups including dance, social, Civil War, musicians, SASS, SDI, and Costumer’s Guild made the day a wonderful celebration of our common interests. Though many groups attended casually to simply enjoy the day, The Victorian Tea & Dance Society sponsored a number of activities throughout the event including dancing in the newly re-opened carriage house, card games at the Queen Anne’s house, and several other opportunities to greet and educate the public on Victorian dance and costume. We were excited to have run out of our flyers and hope that many of our new friends will join us at upcoming Socials.
Our sincere thanks to Mitchell Bishop, the curator of the Arboretum, who reached out to us and to all those responsible for creating such a wonderful event! It’s sure to become an annual fest.

Holiday Times 2009 at the Los Angeles Arboretum
Monday, March 15, 2009 ~ Though our first visit to the Arboretum was preceded by a week of hard rain, a few brave souls came out to celebrate at the Arboretum’s Holiday Festival. Even with this small group it showed us what a wonderful opportunity this was to enjoy a sense of being taken out of time and back to a Victorian day of picnicking and games.
Though the first one was small (20 attendees), our Holiday outing to the L.A.Arboretum event was a wonderful day of tea and dancing in front of the beautiful Queen Anne’s Cottage.
